Just Add Ice product Tags

Project Overview

Objective: Using the existing tag die-lines, update all Just Add Ice product tags to reflect the new style guide and consumer focused messaging.

Strategy: To alleviate consumers fear of failure with tropical plants, reinforce the easy care and post-purchase support that Just Add Ice stands for.


Featured are core items. Not featured: Grand Orchid, Watercolor Orchid, Waterfall Orchid, Orchid Planter, and Tropical Garden Planter.

  • Just Add Ice is best known for its scientifically proven ice watering method.

  • With in-store consumer surveys and eye tracking software, ice cubes were proven to be the strongest imagery.

  • Consumer feedback showed people liked the care being clearly stated on the front of the tag.

  • The first page in the booklet tag covers ‘Why Ice?’ ice watering method question consumers ask the most.

  • Also included are the watering measurements for those who do not care for ice watering.

  • Standardized trilingual tags to be more inclusive for all diverse consumers.

  • The back of the tag focuses on 3 main purchasing motivators:

  1. Post-Purchase support

    • Over 1.7 millions blog views, with care blogs as the top preforming.

  2. Orchid blooms last longer than a bouquet

    • 75% of consumers said that the messaging “lasts longer than a bouquet” would motivate them to buy.

  3. Orchids are safe for pets

    • 67% of orchid consumers are pet owners.

Before launching the redesigned tag we ran a PVA test to compare the new design vs. the old tag design.
